Skip to contentOne of the best parts of my leggings business is meeting and connecting with women of all ages, sizes and shapes. Recently I received an order from a woman I met at a luncheon. When she came by to pick up her leggings, we ended up sitting on the floor of my office, laughing, crying and sharing stories of love and loss. It was such a gift to share with her matters of the heart.
In my day to day business of running Threads I sometimes forget how important it is to stay in touch with the women in my life and know how much we all need to make the time to share and support each other. In these moments, we are lifted.
I love when women recognize the importance that we play in each other’s worlds. Mothers, daughters, aunts, sisters, sister in laws, nieces, and girlfriends, they are so precious to me. We lift each other up, we share experiences that make a difference in every day life.
I had 32 bridesmaids at our wedding for goodness sake. Yes, I said 32 ! :)
I do get stuck in my events and daily operations and I forget. I forget to stop the busyness and reach out, say “How are you ?”, “What’s going on ?”, “Let’s get together for some coffee or glass of wine”, “Let’s talk”. I feel like I let down the women around me. I forget to tell them how much they mean to me or how important they really are to me. Losing those relationships would be like losing the air we need to breathe.
So what do we do ? I am trying to learn how to balance life - balance my company and my relationships. So as I figure it out, I am telling you now. You mean the world to me and I am so grateful for having you in my life. Every single one of you (and you know who you are) are so important to me.
Each of us have so many commitments important to our families and communities. We just need to take a breath from time to time, check in with each other, and connect.
Amazing things happen in our lives, our families, and our communities when women support women. Having my women connection is vital for me. I can’t explain it as deeply as I feel it, but it is so important. When we connect with our friends fears go away and seas open. It is almost inexplicable. From getting advice, being a shoulder to cry on, lending a listening ear, it makes everything in life possible. Call me, let’s talk. I want to hear from you. I love you all.
